The process involved in creating our products

Each and every Crocodilia product has been carefully formulated and created by hand.

Our crocodile oil is ethically sourced from CITES approved Australian crocodile farms located near Cairns in far North Queensland.

The process involved in creating Crocodilia’s products is labor intensive. The oil itself is extracted from the fatty tissue of crocodiles, an element which is a bi-product during the farming of crocodile meat. Often discarded, we put the fatty tissue to good use by extracting the oil to help create our product range.

Many of our products are infused with essential oils that are crafted using our own family recipes. We combine the crocodile oil and essential oils with creams produced locally with the help of trained biochemists.

Crocodilia’s core ingredients

Almond oil

Complete with vitamin A, E, zinc and omega 3 fatty acids, almond oil is an anti-inflammatory which can ease puffiness and swelling or reduce dark under-eye circles.

Used for centuries by ancient Chinese and Ayurvedic practitioners, it is known for providing relief for a range of skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis as well in helping to reduce the appearance of scars.

Aloe vera leaf juice

It’s not uncommon to see aloe vera leaf juice used in products aimed at relieving sun damage and burns. Aloe vera contains a range of important vitamins and minerals such as vitamins b, c, e and folic acid as well as zinc, manganese, potassium, selenium, sodium, chromium, copper and calcium.

The natural cooling properties help to reduce redness and avoid scarring after a harmful day in the suns rays whilst also minimising scarring and alleviating dry itchy skin.

Apricot kernel oil

A light and easily absorbed oil into the skin, apricot kernel oil is naturally high in vitamin e which helps to soften skin and improve its elasticity.

Apricot kernel oil has a deep, nutty scent and will leave your skin feeling radiant and provide all day protection from damaging free radicals.

In addition to reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines when used on the face, it is also fantastic when used on cracking and dry lips.

Bluegum eucalyptus oil

Native to Australia with a strong camphorous scent, Bluegum Eucalyptus
is a cool and refreshing yet stimulating oil with anti-bacterial and
anti-inflammatory properties.

The Australian aborigines used the properties found in bluegum eucalyptus leaves to help treat wounds and prevent infections.

A natural repellent, it’s fantastic on mosquito bites as well as in assisting in providing relief to minor burns and scars. The scent from the eucalyptus oil can also provide relief from coughs and colds when used as a chest rub.

Earth blend

Our customised oil blend combines Australian lemongrass, cypress, gingergrass, oakmoss, patchouli and petitgrain to create a divine, earthy scent.

Lemongrass helps to calm and soothe inflammation and gingergrass is a bactericide thanks to their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Meanwhile, cypress oil is a natural astringent and petitgrain good for maintaining the oil balance of the skin. Finally, patchouli is known to aid skin recovery as a result of sun damage and oakmoss a restorative antiseptic.

Together these qualities make this blend the perfect skin toner to help clean out pores, assist with acne breakouts or to help alleviate sunburn.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is rich in saturated fatty acids such as lauric, myristic, caprylic, palmitic, capric, oleic, linoleic and stearic acids which have antimicrobial properties.

Applying coconut oil to the skin assists in providing relief for a range of skin infections such as acne, cellulitis, folliculitis and tinea as the oil’s properties help prevent the growth of microorganisms.

Also a fantastic moisturiser, it can help to provide relief for skin conditions such as eczema and alleviate dry, itchy skin.

Crocodile oil

Crocodile oil’s fatty acid profile is complete with omega 3, omega 6, omega 7 and omega 9 as well as rich in vitamin A and E and high in collagen.

Combined with rich oleic, palmitoleic, palmitic and linoleic acids, these properties help make crocodile oil an essential moisturiser that can be used to help soothe and repair the skin whilst also aid in reducing fine lines and wrinkles associated with ageing.

A natural skin healer, crocodile oil has the potential to assist in providing relief to a broad array of skin conditions.

Lemon myrtle oil

Another well-known Australian native thanks to its healing abilities, Lemon myrtle is high in antioxidants, vitamin E, calcium, lutein, zinc and magnesium. It also has anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties.

Lemon myrtle oil also has a pleasant lemony aroma which is refreshing and uplifting. When used on the skin it can assist with wound healing, provide protection against infection and soothe inflammation.

Jasmine oil

With antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, jasmine is the perfect essential oil to help encourage skin cell regeneration.

Jasmine oil has a cicatrizing effect, meaning it can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and repair scar tissue as it helps to improve the healing process.

The alluring scent of Jasmine oil has been used in perfumes for decades due to its role as an aphrodisiac and mood enhancer and will therefore leave your skin feeling uplifted and enticing.

Peru balsam oil

Peru balsam is an herb known to provide relief to dry, itchy and chapped skin or rashes. This is thanks to the antiseptic and antibacterial properties found in the terpene composition of the oil such as benzoic acid, cinnamic acid, benzyl benzoate and nerolidol.

The oil’s calming vanilla and cinnamon scent helps to calm and alleviate the mind from stress whilst the natural antiperspirant found within Peru Balsam makes this product the perfect choice for someone who has a rigorous daytime routine.

Pink grapefruit oil

High in vitamin c, lymphatic and antiseptic properties which help strengthen the immune system, pink grapefruit oil is the perfect product to apply to bruises, wounds and cuts to prevent microbial and tetanus infections.

Pink grapefruit oil can also be used to help promote cell turnover and keep your skin healthy and clean thanks to its limonene content.

Pink grapefruit also has a wonderful citrusy scent that is sweet and fruity on the skin, leaving you feeling uplifted throughout the day.

Pomegranate oil

Known as the ‘fruit of life’, pomegranate oil contains one of the richest sources of vitamins c and k as well as a range of omega 5 fatty acids. As a result it contains antioxidants that are powerful in fighting the ageing process of the skin whilst also having moisturising and anti-inflammatory properties.

The scent of the pomegranate has a wonderful fresh and fruity yet woody aroma. When applied to the skin it provides a natural protective barrier and helps to improve skin brightness whilst also repairing damage.

Rosehip oil

The fruit of the rose bush, rosehips are said to contain more vitamin c than oranges or lemon.

Rosehip oil also contains vitamin A and lycopene. Together these properties allow the oil to help reduce and reverse sun damage, provide acne relief and prevent dry skin.

Unlike the flower, the scent of rosehip oil is earthy and woody, leaving your skin feeling natural and beautiful.

Rose geranium oil

Native to parts of Africa, rose geranium has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that help improve the skin’s ability to heal and minimise ageing.

Often used as a preservative in food, when used on the skin it has been shown to reduce bacteria, fungi and viruses that cause infections.

Thanks to its rose scent, using our products which contain this oil can help to soothe anxiety and increase relaxation.

Shae nut butter

Shae nuts are derived from shea trees commonly found throughout West Africa.

Rich in vitamins a and e as well as cinnamic acid, triterpenes, phenolic acid and phytosterois, shea butter is an incredible moisturiser that can assist with various skin ailments such as sun damage, skin dryness and blemishes whilst also helping to soothe conditions like eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.

The oil has a natural nutty or coconut-like scent that can be worn all day or night.
